Excitement is building for Wednesday night’s basketball game between Oklahoma State and Tulsa. The game is already a sellout and features an unbeaten OSU squad against a Golden Hurricane team that plays well at the Reynolds Center.
“It will be a lot of fun,” TU coach Doug Wojcik said during a Monday press conference. “It’s nice to have exciting, big games on your schedule.
“Even though the next game is always the biggest as a coach, it’s nice to have the next game be an even bigger game for fans.”
Wednesday’s contest is not televised. TU officials said that it was considered for CBS College Sports, but would have had to have the game date changed. Both schools couldn’t find a suitable day in their schedules.
This will be OSU’s first visit to the Reynolds Center. The Cowboys haven’t played the Golden Hurricane in Tulsa since losing 72-54 on Nov. 22, 1996, at the Convention Center.
Tulsa (5-1) is coming off a 83-75 loss at Missouri State over the weekend. The Hurricane nearly erased a 21-point deficit before fading at the end.
Oklahoma State (6-0) has an average margin of victory of 20.5 points and won the Las Vegas Invitational over the weekend.
A limited number of standing room only tickets will go on sale at the Reynolds Center ticket office at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Standing room only tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the ticket office only.
The OSU-TU game is the 41st sellout at the Reynolds Center since the arena opened on Dec. 29, 1998.
